Abstract

Russia and Ukraine emerged as independent countries after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Russia and Ukraine are close neighbours. Geographically Russia and Ukraine are situated in East Europe. But the Russia-Ukraine relation is critical for security and stability of the entire world. From the very beginning the Russia-Ukraine relation is not amicable. Firstly, the Russia-Ukraine relation is full of tensions. Secondly, Russia and Ukraine pose opposite views regarding the Russia-Ukraine relation. Thirdly, NATO and Western countries have complicated interests in the Russia-Ukraine relation. So, peaceful co-existence of Russia and Ukraine is difficult. But stability and mutual tolerance in the Russia Ukraine relation are required for the greater interest of the world community.
